Cartilage Response to Running Loads

We investigated how short bouts of running affect knee cartilage relaxation times in healthy female runners. Post-exercise imaging showed transient reductions in T2 values, suggesting reversible fluid redistribution under dynamic loading. These insights illuminate cartilage adaptation to mechanical demand and inform guidance for maintaining joint health during repetitive activity.

Comparing Methods for Cartilage Thickness

We compared multiple CT-based approaches for quantifying tibial cartilage thickness in supine and weight-bearing positions. The analysis revealed systematic differences among techniques and highlighted sensitivity to joint posture. These results guide selection of imaging protocols for accurate assessment of joint morphology.
