Validating MRI Stiffness in Heart Models
Using synthetic heart phantoms, we validated MRI-derived estimates of myocardial stiffness. Comparison with mechanical reference testing showed strong agreement between imaging and experimental measurements. This validation supports the use of MRI for noninvasive stiffness mapping in cardiac biomechanics research.
Mechanical Behavior of Airway Tissue
We characterized heterogeneous and anisotropic mechanical responses of airway tissue using combined elastic and viscoelastic modeling. The results revealed strong directional dependence and nonlinearity under physiological strain. These insights improve understanding of airway wall mechanics and support computational respiratory simulations.
