Improved MRI Mapping of Cartilage
We implemented a rapid three-dimensional gagCEST MRI sequence to enhance sensitivity to proteoglycan content in knee cartilage. The optimized method broadened the dynamic range and reliably distinguished osteoarthritic tissue from healthy tissue. This work establishes a robust framework for compositional cartilage imaging in clinical and research settings.
Age And Inflammation in Meniscus Degradation
We examined how age and interleukin-1 exposure influence meniscal degradation. Older tissue showed increased susceptibility to matrix breakdown and loss of mechanical integrity. These findings clarify the interaction between inflammatory signaling and aging in joint degeneration and inform strategies for maintaining meniscal function over time.
